La scatola ha una grafica molto curata che mette in risalto tutte le caratteristiche della scheda il che può risultare molto utile in caso di indecisione al momento dell’acquisto, è da apprezzare la decisione di utilizzare solo materiali riciclabili a salvaguardia dell’ambiente. Anche se la struttura interna è ben realizzata, gli accessori si muovono all’interno ma non c’è pericolo di rottura.

L’ HUB pci con 2 USB 3.0 è un accessorio che difficilmente si trova in dotazione nelle schede madri della stessa fascia di prezzo della GD65.
Le sonde per il multimetro servono per misurare le tensioni attraverso il multimetro presente on-board, questo sta ad indicare come la scheda madre è predisposta all’overclock anche da parte di utenti più esperti.
The USB 3.0 HUB is an accessory that is hardly to find included in the motherboards of the same price range of GD65.
The probes for the meter used to measure the voltage through the meter on-board, this indicates how the motherboard is designed for overclocking even for experienced users.
Board:
La scheda ha un layout molto semplice e molto pulito ma allo stesso tempo di qualità, i colori adottati sono gli stessi che MSI ha utilizzato per la precedente serie di schede madri, ovvero PCB nero e dettagli blu (e anche argentati in questo caso), questa combinazione dono alla scheda un look abbastanza aggressivo.
The card has a layout very simple and very clean but at the same time of quality, the colors used are the same ones that MSI has used for the previous series of motherboards, black PCB and details of blue (and silver in this case), this combination give at the card an aggressive look.
I componenti “Military Class II” si riconoscono e garantiscono un’alta stabilità.

Il sistema di dissipazione è minimalista ma è piazzato nei posti giusti.
Il multimetro è posto vicino al connettore 24 pin, la sua collocazione sembra essere adeguata in quanto risulta essere accessibile anche quando la scheda madre è montata nel case.

In basso a destra troviamo 3 pulsanti On-board, ovvero Power, reset e OcGenie II che, una volta premuto, overcloccherà in automatico la scheda anche se fornendole voltaggi esagerati per la frequenza raggiunta, a tal proposito, consiglio anche ai meno esperti di overclock di non utilizzare questa funzione ma di overcloccare in maniera classica tramite Bios dato che i Sandy Bridge non richiedono particolari conoscenze in ambito.
In the lower right there are three on-board buttons, Power, reset and OcGenie II that, when pressed, automatically overclock the card even if exaggerated by providing voltage at the frequency reached in that regard, I also suggest to the less experienced overclockers not to use this function, but to overclock in a classical way to via BIOS as the Sandy Bridge does not require special knowledge in the field.

Come ovviare al problema delle porte SATA II
Come avete potuto leggere, le schede madri con chipset P67 hanno un difetto al chip che gestisce le porte SATA II, ovvero dopo un po di tempo (si parla comunque di anni) queste porte non solo si rovinano ma rischiano di rovinare anche le periferiche ad essi collegate.
Per far in modo che ciò non accada basta semplicemente utilizzare le porte contraddistinte dalla colorazione bianca.
Pur essendo porte Sata III sono retro-compatibili quindi potete collegarci tranquillamente una periferica Sata II.
Nel caso vogliate effettuare un Raid, vi consiglio di utilizzare le porte SATA 1-2 in quanto essendo gestite dal chipset P67, risultano essere più “performanti” delle porte SATA 7-8 gestite da un chip di terze parti (in questo caso Marvell).
Ricordo comunque che MSI ha annunciato che è possibile chiedere il rimborso o una mainboard sostitutiva. La stessa casa madre rilascerà comunque più informazioni a riguardo entro fine febbraio.
Ricordo inoltre che, anche questa, come tutte le mainboard P67 e H67 è stata momentaneamente tolta dalla vendita, ritornerà ad aprile con una nuova versione senza difetti contraddistinta da un bollino bianco sulla scatola.
Overcoming the problem of SATA II ports
As you have read, the P67 chipset motherboards have a defect in the chip that handles SATA II ports, after some time (probably still years) these ports will not only ruin but also risk damaging the devices connected with them.
To ensure that this does not happen, simply use the ports identified by the color white.
Although Sata III ports are backwards-compatible so you can easily hook up a SATA II.
If you wish to make a raid, I recommend you use the SATA ports 1-2 as being managedby the P67 chipset, are more “performance” of 7-8 SATA ports controlled by a third-party chip (in this case Marvell) .
I remember however that MSI has announced that it is possible to request a refund or areplacement mainboard. The same parent company will release more information about it, however, by the end of February.
I also remember that this too, like all the H67 and P67 mainboard has been temporarily removed from sale, it will return in April with a new version without defects identified by awhite sticker on the box.
